Cambodia Gambling Dens
February 28th, 2016 by Aidyn

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financial sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship casino, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel building that highlights a number of amenities aside from the gambling den, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
