Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which casino gambling is not legal. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, contains 150 slots and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel building that features a number of luxuries in addition to the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight tables.
