Cambodia Gambling Halls
June 20th, 2021 by Aidyn

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau casino, features 150 slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
